Dry Skin Patrol - Philly Video & GIVEAWAY

Here is an update on Vaseline Intensive Rescue lotion and the Dry Skin Patrol's campaign to deliver 1 million good skin days this winter. We have already run in the Philadelphia Marathon's 8K and am happy to share this webfilm with the amazing Wendie Malick:

If you would have told me, prior to running in Philly, that I would actually contemplate running as a fun exercise, I would have fallen over laughing. Especially in the cold? Never. But there was something invigorating about it and possibly living up at 7100 feet helps, but I actually enjoyed it. My dry skin prone skin was completely covered with Vaseline Intensive Rescue so I could concentrate on more important things - like beating the lady in front of me who was old enough to be my grandmother!

I am getting to pay-it-forward and give you a chance to win some of this great lotion. You can also go to Vaseline's website to find a store near you that carries Vaseline Intensive Rescue or any other of their wonderful products. I honestly use it every day after every shower, especially my morning one. Most of the time that is all I need - but I feel so good after I do so I usually put it on twice a day!

WIN IT!: One of my readers will win 2 full-size (10 oz) bottles - one for you and one to pay-it-forward to someone you love - of Vaseline Intensive Rescue Lotion

TO ENTER: Do you suffer from dry skin? Does someone you love? OR What is your favorite Vaseline product?

Timex "Timeless" Originals Review & Giveaway

There are few slogans that I can quote from memory, but Timex's "It Takes a Licking and Keeps on Ticking" just happens to be one of them. When I think of watches, I automatically think of Timex and I am happy to introduce (or reintroduce as it were) the Timex Originals line of watches.

I had the opportunity to review the Timex Core Camper and I love it. I wear it as my daily casual watch and get comments on it every time I do. It just has that classic look that goes with any outfit. My only fear was the white band. As the mom of 3 boys, I have a personal relationship with dirt and grime. It is simply impossible to avoid it. However the watch is water resistant and I simply put some gentle dish soap (or whatever soap is handy) and give it a little scrub. I do this generally at the end of the day/each week and leave it out to dry so that in the morning it is ready and looks as good as new.

Timex also has a line of videos to help you style your outfits using their watches. After spending the last 3 years in sweats taking care of my kids, I know I need all the help I can get. Here are a few of my favorites:

How to get the Collegiate Look from Timex Style on Vimeo.

How to Get the Retro Look from Timex Style on Vimeo.

The Camper in white is reasonably priced at $35 and can be purchased here. There are many other colors (prices may vary).

WIN IT!: One of my readers will win a white Timex Camper watch (ARV: $35)

TO ENTER: Go to the Timex Style Page on Vimeo and tell me your favorite style!

'A Walk In My Shoes' - Airs tonight Dec. 3rd 8/7C NBC

Procter & Gamble and Walmart will air their made-for-TV family movie, "A Walk in My Shoes," starring Nancy Travis, Philip Winchester and Yara Martinez tonight Friday, Dec. 3, 2010 at 8/7C on NBC. This movie is the third of their Family Movie Night Initiative, which was launched last April. These movies were made in direct response to research that found that parents are in need of more family-oriented entertainment they can actually view together.

"'A Walk in My Shoes' makes viewers stop and think, "What would I learn if I stepped into someone else's life?" Stressed-out high school teacher Trish Fahey (Nancy Travis, "Three Men and a Baby," "Becker") can't understand her students' lack of effort in the classroom and why their parents don't seem to care. This is especially true of Justin Kremer (Cameron Deane Stewart), a popular, skateboard-loving, basketball star who is underperforming in her class. Trish has him suspended from the basketball team and quickly chalks up the situation as a case of bad parenting.

This perspective dramatically changes when Trish meets Molly (Yara Martinez, "My Own Worst Enemy"), a mysterious stranger intent on helping her see things differently. After a car accident, Trish wakes to find herself living the life of Cindy Kremer, the woman she has rashly judged and criticized. Molly helps Trish discover that there is more to the story and learns a powerful lesson that affects everyone she interacts with, including her husband, daughter and the Marine next door. No one is left unchanged."

I hope you'll tune in with your family this evening or will DVR it for a time you can get everyone together. With an 18-year-old, 3-year-old and 2-year-old, I know how hard it is to get everyone on the same schedule. If you can tonight, grab a bag of popcorn and hopefully start some great discussions after you watch it. However, if you miss the movie, I've got you covered!

WIN IT!: One of my readers will win a DVD/CD bundle of 'A Walk in my Shoes.'

TO ENTER: Let me know what you do to make sure you spend quality time with your family. Do you have any special rituals or weekly/monthly events that make sure you stay connected?

Little Star Sweeper Crayon Rolls Review/Giveaway

As the mom of 2 toddlers and a teenager, when you leave the house you must be organized and ready for anything. I always have some snacks and water on hand, but now that the little boys are getting older, entertainment must also mature. A cup of pretzels no longer cuts it. They actually want something to do - the nerve!

Now I have a small coloring book or spiral notebook in my purse or diaper bag. I used to also throw a crayon or two into the small pocket in my purse but eventually they would break not to mention Jake insists he needs more than one color to color with - seriously this kid is so demanding!! That is where Little Star Sweeper stepped in to save the day (or days!). Their Crayon Rolls are adorable and come in 4 and 16 count crayon holders.

We got the 16 count crayon roll in the Rockstar pattern which is adorable. After perfecting just the right colors, in just the right order (it simply has to be "just so") we rolled it up and tied it, threw it into the diaper bag and they were safe and sound. I've even thrown it into my purse when I didn't want to carry the big bag in to a doctors appointment and even amongst all my clutter in there, it fit nicely and didn't break a single crayon.

WIN IT!: One of my readers will win their choice of Crayon Roll.

TO ENTER: Go to Little Star Sweeper and tell me another item that you would like (other than the crayon rolls).

I'm Coming Out

Confession: I am habitually late. I have serious time-management issues.

I wish I could figure it out. But I am 37-years-old and I have been working on this issue for most of my life. Take right this moment: I am sitting here blogging, watching today's episode of The View when I should actually be getting ready to leave for the doctors. I need to be out the door in 40 minutes. Why am I sitting here? I mean, the episode I am watching is taped. I am done eating my lunch. Oh, I just realized that I need to pack the diaper bag too.

I know people think that it is rude to be late. I totally agree. But, I really don't think that my time is more valuable than others. I just always think I can get ready faster. I think I can do more in a shorter amount of time. I just want to think of myself as being too optimistic. However, I know that my lateness causes others problems and so I am really going to try to do better.

Well, after this episode of The View is over.

I kid.
