Red Carpet: Ready or Not, Here I Come!

Thank you to all of you that took the time to vote for my essay on the "Power of Women." All 11 of the essay entrants will be attending Variety's Power of Women luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel and I, along with Jodi of Multitasking Mommy, will be red carpet correspondents! 

How cool! How nerve-racking! How overwhelming! How this-only-happens-to-other-people!

This is Variety's 2nd Annual event which honors and acknowledges a select group of women in entertainment who have made an significant contributions to philanthropic and charitable causes. "The goal of Variety's Power of Women campaign high power women in the industry to support the philanthropic and humanitarian causes close to their hearts, to engage their peers and to do the same and to inspire and encourage women from all walks of life to get involved, give back and make a difference."

Last year's recipients included Christina Aguilera (World Hunger Relief), Christina Applegate (Right Action for Women), Anne Hathaway (Service Nation) and Sigourney Weaver (The Flea Theater). When I hear  who the honorees will be this year, I will let you know!

I am so honored and excited to be a part of this event. However, there is one thing that is causing me such stress: What do I wear? On a good day, getting dressed entails putting on sweats and pulling my (possibly clean) hair into a ponytail.

I guess there are worse things to worry about.
