If you are like me, you have been coveting a FLOR carpet/rug for some time. I was incredibly thrilled to have the opportunity to review one of their 5 x 7 rugs. Was it worth the wait? Did it live up to the hype? Absolutely!

We chose the All Bark & No Bite (houndstooth) in Black for our living room. The tiles were a good weight, not too heavy to maneuver but not too light to just be pushed around. The only problem we had was deciding whether to put it together straight or parquet. Though FLOR suggests laying this particular pattern straight, we ended up laying it in a parquet and we love it!

My only complaint has nothing to do with the product. With 3 kids, a dog and a husband, the amount of traffic in this house is insane. Therefore the rug gets lint and crumbs on it and since it is black, well, it shows everything. BUT, it vacuums nicely and I still don't regret getting this color since it is really helping to pull together my living room.

My husband got the job of applying the FLORdots to the back of the tiles so that they formed the rug. It took maybe 10 minutes and looks great. I think that this pattern might look great if applied straight if it was being used as the actual carpet for a room instead of a rug. I just think that the parquet look really works with our room (if you look at the picture above, you will see that the pattern looks checkerboard-like, that is parquet). My little dog (and only other girl in the house) Izzie loves the FLOR modular carpet tiles too as you can see. When the boys go to bed she claims it as her own area.

There are so many, many styles and sizes to choose from. Mix it up and choose complementary patterns/colors and build your own rug or carpet. What a fabulous way to change up a room - simply adding new flooring or rug can transform the look of a room. FLOR allows you to do this on a budget because their flooring is so affordable.
