Birthday, Bachelor and Pity Party

I am pooped. Every year that I throw a kids party, afterward I think, "Why?" Seriously, Jake has no clue that we threw him a party. It cost us an arm and a leg, weeks of planning, 6 hours of constant motion and tantrums, 2 crabby kids to clean up and a teenager who insists on driving me to drink. We don't need any more "things," so it isn't for the presents. I recall my husband saying we should do this & I wish I had had the sense to say no.

My husband, God bless him, has no idea all the planning that this entails. He helped decorate and I about lost my mind as he strolled around and would not move at the speed of light I wanted him to. He helped clean up and then went to a bachelor party. I was too tired to even feel jealous or resentful. I just took my two over-tired & crabby children on the 2 hour drive home and somehow managed to get them cleaned up and in bed.

So now I am feeling sad. My babies are growing so fast. Nathan will be 18 soon and seems to be pretty head-over-heals for a girl who has pink hair (ok, not all pink and I will admit she is cute). Jake just turned 2 years old this week and I swear just yesterday we brought him home from the hospital. Luke just got 4 more teeth and I realized that my days of toothless grins are over. Welcome to my pity party.

Sorry to be a party pooper. But, I am going to bed. Read More......

Aloha Friday #18

"In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response."

To participate, you ask your readers a question and then sign her Linky with your post.

So head over to her site and answer her question.

I tried and tried and tried to get my husband to take over my Aloha Friday posts since he always thinks he has the best Aloha Friday questions. Here is his latest contribution:

If you were a genie and someone asked you this wish, "I wish that you would not grant me this wish." What would you do?

He thinks he is so funny. You don't have to answer... But you can comment as to how mean he is. Isn't this supposed to be a question you don't have to think too hard about? Welcome to my world. Read More......

Itzbeen Review and Giveaway

Anyone who has had a baby knows how hard it is to keep track of how it has been since you fed the baby, changed the baby, put the baby to sleep, etc... Tack on that you are completely hormonal, sleep deprived, recovering from childbirth and you are lucky if you can remember what your name is. All day long you will hear yourself asking,"How long has it been since..."

Enter the Itzbeen Baby Care Timer. This little device could literally save your sanity. Itzbeen is a "multi-purpose tool that helps you remember the basic details of baby care. ITZBEEN has four timers that count up with the touch of a button…so you will always know how long it's been!"

Now, you know I do not have a newborn anymore but it doesn't mean that I can't use the Itzbeen. We use it everyday, especially to keep track of how long each of the kids have been asleep or awake and how long itzbeen since someone has had medicine. How many times have you left to go to the store, and your husband has had to call you to find out how long it has been since the baby had a bottle or something? Get one of these and those days are no longer.

The buttons keep track of changing, feeding, sleep or awake time, and an extra button that can be used for anything else you'd like to keep track of like medication. You can set alarms to remind you that something needs to be done and there is even a dial that you can use to remember what side you nursed on last.

I am so used to devices that are complicated and therefore this took me a long time to get the hang of. It is almost too simple. I also wish that it was a little bit bigger. My sons love to play with anything with buttons and that belongs to me so it often gets "lost" among the toys. Luckily it has a great lock so that even when it gets "stolen" the little boogers can't mess with the timers. But really, are these faults with the device or faults with the user? I think I am going to have to point at myself on this one.

The Happy Company Review and Giveaway

I cannot think of a population more in need of The Happy Company and their line of products that promote healthy living and wellness through good-for-you products, than moms. The Happy Company is the home of the original happy massager:

Bringing the spa experience home is what The Happy Company can offer. I received their Soothing Eye Pillow to review. I looked forward to testing it out that night. I always look forward to going to bed but I had hoped that the Soothing Eye Pillow would help me get to sleep a little easier. The features of the pillow are:
  • Packed with flax seeds for a soothing weight and larger coverage area.
  • Targets sinus pressure and acupressure points around the eyes and face.
  • Features a flax seed insert with removable scent sachet filled with ginger and lavender for vitality and relaxation.
  • Eye Pillow chills quickly in the freezer for instant relief.
  • 100% cotton jersey knit backing is soft against face and eyes. Chenille is super soft and velvety.
It really did help me fall asleep faster. I love the smell and it just helps me relax. My favorite part of the pillow is the chenille cover. It just feels so wonderful against my skin. There is also an elastic band that holds the pillow on which I don't use. Maybe my head is too big because it is a little too tight for me. However, I have found that it really isn't necessary. I also love that you can wash the outer cover unlike other eye pillows I have seen.

I encourage you to check out thier new Sweet Dreams collection which includes a Neck Wrap, Dream Mask and All-Over Body Wrap. They have soft cozy flannel covers with calming lavender filled inserts to clam the senses.

WIN IT!: I have a Cranberry Soothing Eye Pillow to give away to one of my readers!

TO ENTER: Head over to The Happy Company and let me know another product you would be interested in.
